Hawarden Independent July 10, 1980

John Brunsting, 67, of Hawarden, died Wednesday, July 2 at a Hawarden hospital of a long illness. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Associated Church of Hawarden, the Rev. Dr. Heston Milligan officiated. Burial was at Grace Hill Cemetery. Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden was in charge.

Mr. Brunsting was born March 31, 1913, at Hawarden, He married the former Fern Anderson on April 18, 1934. He was a member of the Associated Church and worked for Everist Gravel Co. for many years.

Survivors include the widow; a son, James in Naples, Italy; two granddaughters; a brother, Edward of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Mrs. R.J. (Nellie) Obbink of Hawarden.
