John Anderson, 81, of La Mesa, California, died Sunday evening, August 5, at his home following a lingering illness from a heart ailment.

The body was sent to Alcester and the funeral services were held in the Baptist Church last Friday afternoon with Rev. James Rentz in charge. Interment was in the Big Springs Cemetery.

John Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Anderson, pioneer resident of the Big Springs community, was born in Sweden July 17, 1870. He came to America with his parents at the age of 13.

He married Miss Clara Wallen of Big Springs, but she preceded him in death many years ago.

When he lived at Alcester he was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors are a daughter, Joy Anderson of La Mesa, California; a brother, Henry Anderson of Alcester, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Peterson of La Mesa, California, and Mrs. Albert Wallen, who also resides in California.

Hawarden relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George Busch, Corp. Robert Busch, Mr. and Mrs. John Brunsting and son, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johannsen and Mrs. John Morgan.
