Fred Hollis Anderson, 59, Alton, formerly of Olympia, Washington, died Saturday, February 16, at his residence.

There will be a memorial service at a later date in Olympia, Washington. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Memorial Park in Olympia, Washington, under the direction of Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Fred Anderson, son of Clarence Walter and Verna B. (Hill) Anderson, was born June 24, 1942, in Seattle. He was raised in Seattle and attended college. He married Karen Kay Tayson on February 12, 1966, in Seattle. They made their home in Olympia, Washington, where he was employed by the Washington Department of Personnel for 30 years. They moved to Alton in 1998. He was a computer systems design specialist for K-Products in Orange City, until health problems forced him to retire.

He was a member of Alton Presbyterian Church and the Eagles Club in Washington.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Anderson of Alton; a daughter, Kimberly Sue Boxell, and her friend, Mark A. Hansen of Alton; a son, Brian LeRoy and Lisa Marie Anderson of Olympia, Washington; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Ronald Clarence Anderson of Tucson, Arizona and Jack Arnold Anderson of Olympia.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
