Adoloph Anderson, 85, a pioneer resident of Big Springs, died last Thursday at his home in Alcester.

Mr. Anderson was born in Sweden May 12, 1864, where he grew to Manhood and married Miss Marie Larson. Two children were born in Sweden. When he came to America he settled in Big Springs, where he worked on farms.

Later he moved to Canistota, South Dakota, and became section foreman for the North Western Railroad. After working as a section foreman at Canistota three years he returned to Alcester and was foreman of the section, which extends east and west of Alcester. At the close of a thirty-five year period with the Railroad, Mr. Anderson retired.

Survivors are the widow; a son Herbert of Hawarden, and three daughters, Mrs. David Lundeen of Huron, South Dakota, and Mrs. Oscar Anderson and Mrs. William Mueller of Alcester.

Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Anderson, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Anderson, Jr., of Hawarden attended the funeral services Sunday afternoon at the Lutheran Church at Alcester.
