Harry Hodoway, 85, of Hawarden, died Tuesday. March 18 in. a hospital at Hawarden. Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary Catholic Church in Hawarden. The Rev. William Carel officiated. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery. The Rosary was recited at 8 p.-m. Wednesday in the Dow Funeral Home at Hawarden. Military graveside services were conducted by the American Legion Two Oakes Post 254.
Mr. Hodoway was born May 24,. 1894, at Hawarden. He married Margaret Theis Sept. 12, 1917, at Sioux City. They farmed in the Hawarden area until 1963 when they retired and moved into Hawarden. He was a veteran of World War I, past commander of American Legion Two Oakes Post 254 of Hawarden, Sioux County commander of the American Legion and was president of the Last Man's Club of the American Legion at the time of his death.
Survivors include the widow; one son, Robert of Hawarden; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Madelyn) Corrie of Ida Grove and Mrs. Gerard (Helene) Maurer of Long Island, N.Y.; six grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Eldon (Margaret) Ericson of Hawarden, Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Sharar of Lakeland, Fla. and Mrs. C.D.N. (Jeanette) Gilfillan of Claremont, Calif.; and one brother, Richard of Rolfe.
