Lucinda Moody was born February 10th 1860, 2 miles south of McGregor, Iowa in Moody Settlement. Her mother died when she was 4 years old.
She and E.C. Stevens were married December 26, 1877, at the bride's parental home. Mrs. Stevens died at the Hull Hospital, September 3rd 1926, after an illness of 8 days, aged 66 years, 6 months and 23 days. Cause of death, apoplexy.
Mrs. Stevens was a faithful, self-sacrificing wife, mother and neighbor, always willing to render her service in sickness, for charity, and as a social member of society, in so far as she was able.
She affiliated with the Methodist church in former years and was a Christian from early childhood.
Her husband, one brother Gammel Moody, one sister, Prudence Albaugh, and one daughter, Ida Mae Smylle of Rock Valley, survive her.
Funeral services were held at Hull, Iowa, at 2 p.m. September 4th and services at the Methodist Church and burial in Moody Cemetery, at McGregor Iowa. Sept. 5th at 1:45 p.m.
