A strange death happened last week near Alton, Iowa. The 12 year old boy of Bernard Blogge, John, living two miles east of Alton, was playing with his sister. While trying to drive a nail in a certain spot he hit himself on the thumb. A few moments later he became unconscious. His sister hurried to the field to get her father who at once sent somebody to town to get Dr. Gleysteen and the priest. When they arrived the boy had passed away already. The doctor tried for nearly an hour to bring the boy back to life. But in vain. He thought death was caused by a shock to the nerves.
