Funeral services were held Thursday for Rev. Henri J. Steunenberg, Northwestern college teacher of sociology and religion. Rev. Steunenberg died at the local hospital on Monday following a confinement of six days. He had reached the age of 55 years.

Services were held in the Orange City First Reformed Church and officiating were Reverends Lenderink, Van Engelenhoven and De Pree.

Mr. Steunenberg attended Northwestern Academy, Central College and Western Seminary, and received his Master of Arts degree at the University of Rochester. He also did graduate work at the University of Wyoming and at Brigham Young University. He served Pastorates at Allendale, Mich., De Motte, Indiana, East Williamson, N.Y., and Boyden, Iowa before coming to Orange City to Northwestern five years ago.

Survivors include the widow, the former Agnes Kuiper and three children, Phyllis, Ruth and John.

The Van Etten Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
