Marlys Ann Stellingwerf, 63, died Thursday, November 25, 2004 at her residence following a battle with cancer. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday November 30, at East Side Lutheran Church, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sioux Falls.

Marlys Ann Stellingwerf, daughter of Dick and Irma Schlidt was born Dec. 28, 1940 in Melvin, Iowa. She grew up in Melvin, where she graduated from Melvin High Schooll in 1959.

Marlys was united in marriage with Walton Stellingwerf on Sept. 18, 1959 in Melvin, IA. They lived in several small communities in northwest Iowa and finally settled in Sioux Falls in 1970. Walt and Marlys owned M & S Lunch Truck, which was well-known in the area for many years. The couple also owned Walt's Auto and Body until 1990. She began working at Sioux Falls Auction, where she worked for 14 years until Aug. 27, 2004 when her health did not allow her to continue working. Marlys truly loved her work.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 45 years, Walt; a son, Steven Stellingwerf; a daughter Pam (Paul) Wickham; three grandchildren, Jospeph Wickham, Jenna and Tara Stellingwerf; and a family friend, Jay Meyer, all of Sioux Falls; a brother Dave (Tresa) Stellingwerf, Sioux Falls; a sister, Carol Baumgarn, Sanborn, IA. several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
