Peter Statema, 69, widely known farmer and stockman of Ireton, died of a heart attack Friday at his farm home three miles north of Ireton.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the residence and 1:30 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Ireton. Rev. H. Arkema of Lebanon, Iowa officiated. The Satterlee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Statema was born January 24, 1890, in The Netherlands and came to this county as a young man. He married Miss Anna Jansma February 26, 1915, and they lived on the same farm since.

Survivors include the widow; five daughters, Mrs. Betty Sikma of Hull, Mrs. Henry Zommermand of Maurice, Mrs. Otto Huisenga of Orange City, Mrs. Julius De Jong of Orange City, Miss Geneva Statema at home, and five sons, John,of Hull, Clarence,of Ireton, Frank of Couperville, Michigan, Peter at home and Arthur of Hawarden.
