Died: February 29, 1984 Orange City, Iowa

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 3 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church for Jacob M. Spieler, 83. Jake died Wednesday, Feb. 29 in a nursing home in Orange City after a long illness.

Father Andrew Hoffman officiated at the mass and graveside services. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of Fisch Funeral Home.

Mr. Spieler was born July 14, 1900 at Granville and was a lifelong area resident. He married Mary M. Schmidt April 23, 1955 at Granville. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Spieler was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Frank and Lawrence, both of Granville; five sisters, Anne Spieler of Burlingame, California, Cora Mich of California, Rose Schemmel of Marshalltown, Mary Nelson of Denver, Colorado, and Martha Luken of Nekoosa, Wisconsin.
