Mr. Henry Spinden of Doon passed away at his home Friday morning at the age of 85 years and nine months. He was the father of Mrs. Gerrit Waningen of Sioux Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday. Interment was in Hillside Cemetery in Doon.

Survivors include nine children, all of whom were at the funeral except three daughters who reside in California; and the widow, who was Harriet Heemstra of Alton before her marriage. Thirteen children were born to them,nine of whom are living.

Mr. Spinden operated a restaurant in Sioux Center about 35 years ago.
