Mrs. Arie Steenhoven, 68, passed away Monday, October 9, 1944 at 10:30 in the morning at the De Bey Hospital after suffering with injuries she received 4 weeks ago when she was run over by a car.

Mrs. A. Steenhoven, nee Dora Hoekstra, was born May 2, 1876 in Friesland, The Netherlands, and came to America at the age of 18 years. She was married to Dirk Tuinstra in 1899. To this union six children were born, Edward Tuinstra of Edgerton, Minnesota, Mathilda, Mrs. W.B. Oldenkamp of Hospers, Gertrude, Mrs. George Post of Tyler, Minnesota and Elmer Tuinstra of Melvin. Two children died in infancy. Mr. Tuinstra died in 1912.

In January, 1915, she married Arie Steenhoven. To this union were born two sons, Arthur Steenhoven of Tyler, Minnesota and Herman Steenhoven of Gaza, Iowa.

Surviving besides her husband and children are 19 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12 at 1 o’clock at the home and at 1:30 P.M. at the First Reformed Church of Hospers with the Rev. Doctor officiating. Interment will be made in the Newkirk Cemetery.
