Died: June 11, 1945Eli Storts, a former resident of Hawarden died very suddenly at Sheldon, Washington, on Monday, June 11th, according to word received here by relatives. He died while sitting in his chair. He had been up and around during the forenoon and had visited his sister-in-law and his step daughter. He complained of a pain in his chest and died shortly afterwards.
He was born on April 15, 1860, in Washington county, Ohio. He came to this vicinity with his parents, who took up a homestead in Union county, South Dakota, in 1871, later moving into Hawarden. He was united in marriage with Mate Beam, who preceded him in death two years ago. He is survived by one son, John, one daughter, Nellie and one step son, Alph Beam, all of Sheldon, Washington, also by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers and one sister, Will Storts of Silverton, Oregon; Dick Storts of Long Beach, California; John Storts of Redwood Falls, Minnesota; and Dave and Lettie Storts of Hawarden.
Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death. One daughter died when two years of age.
