Carolyn Marie Schneider, third child of Mr. and Mrs. John Schneider, residing ten miles northwest of Hawarden in Union County, died Sunday afternoon in the Hudson Hospital following an illness of brief duration. She had been ill only about a week when it was deemed advisable to remove her to the hospital where an operation was contemplated but her frail condition would not permit of it and she passed away a day or two after entering the hospital.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon with Rev. C.A. Burkhart in charge. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. Four of her young friends, Roland Newberg, Floyd Albers, Lloyd Peterson and Thomas Johnson, served as pall bearers.

Carolyn Marie Schneider was born August 19, 1929, so lacked but 19 days of being 9 years old. She was baptized on February 18, 1930. Her death comes a severe blow to her parents, brothers and sisters. Besides her parents she leaves three sisters, Darlene, Jeanette and Lois, and two brothers, Donald and Gerald. In addition her death is mourned by her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Caroline Schneider, and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Miller.
