Death Claims Former Resident Mrs. John L. King, who was Daisy Day, before her marriage, passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City Monday. She had been ill for nine weeks. Her remains were brought to Ireton and funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Frederick Grantham in charge. Interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery. The pall bearers were Frank Wells', L. M. Black, Gerrit Van Wyhe, Reine Eilts, Fred Johnson and Fred Schuette.
Daisy Day, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Day, was born in Sioux county Aug. 23, 1890, and passed away July 5, 1943, being almost 53 years of age at the time of her death. She- was married to John L. King at Sioux Falls and they made their home in Sioux City. Besides her husband she is survived by a step-son, Jack King, who' is in the armed forces somewhere in the Pacific. She also leaves five brothers and two sisters, Jasper W. Day of Yakima, Wash.; James G. Day of Salt Lake City Utah; George M. Day of Auburn, Wash.; Ross Day and Eva Day of Le Mars; Delbert E. Day of Ireton, and Mrs. Flora Bushby of Struble.
Mrs. King was born and raised in Ireton and was highly respected by all here. She made many friends through her pleasing and quiet ways. Before her marriage she was employed as a clerk in various stores and was also dependable and courteous.
