Hendrene T. Kroese, 71, of Hull died Monday, November 4, at Sioux Center Community Hospital in Sioux Center. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. Carl Klompien officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Kroese was born December 2, 1930, in Hull, the daughter of John and Jeanette (Westra) Te Slaa. She was raised in Hull and graduated from Western Christian High School. She married Gerald Kroese on August 30, 1949, in Hull. They farmed east of Sioux Center from 1953 to 1970, when they moved to a farm north of Hull. They moved into Hull in 1990. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she belonged to the Bereans Society. She participated in Coffee Break Ministries, and Welcome Township Homemakers. She enjoyed camping, attending music programs and following her grandchildren's activities.
Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Galen and Connie Kroese of Hull; a daughter and her husband, Shari and Jarvis De Wild of Hull; six grandchildren; a brother, John B. Te Slaa of Hull; and two sisters, Joan Miller of Hudsonville, Michigan, and Julene Dekkers of Ireton.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Freda Te Slaa. Memorials are being directed to the Hull Christian School Foundation and the Western Christian High School Foundation
