Peter Kroese, 88. of Hull died Sunday, December 16, at Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, at First Christian Reformed Church at Hull with the Rev. William Renkema officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.

Kroese was born April 25, 1902, at Hornick. He moved to Hull with his family as a child. He married Cynthia Te Slaa at Hull on July 16, 1924. The couple farmed at Hull until 1958 when they retired and moved into town. He became a resident of Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull in September 1985.

He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where he had served on the consistory for many years. In earlier years he was a member of the board of directors of several community organizations.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles and John, both of Hull; two daughters, Hilda De Jong and Freda Klay, both of Hull; three sisters, Nellie Kroese, Evelyn Marra and Ann Wielenga, all of Hull; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
