Jean Van Zee, 83, of Rock Valley died Monday, June 10, at Valley Manor in Rock Valley. Services were Thursday at First Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Harlan De Jong officiating. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Zee was the daughter of Nick and Jean Marie (Vander Berg) Koele and was born November 7, 1912, at Hull. After graduating from Hull High School, she worked at Starret Dry-Goods and Grocery store in Hull.

On March 9, 1927, she married Henry Van Zee at Hull. The couple lived in Rock Valley, where he was part-owner of Rock Valley Cement Block and Tile. She moved to Valley Manor on May 17, of this year.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Richard "Dick" and Deanne Van Zee and Conrad and Orlene Van Zee, all of Rock Valley; daughter and her husband, Jean Marie and Roger Ranschau of Inwood, a sister, Eva Davis of Hull; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederic and Marvin Koele, a sister, Margaret Koele and two infant great-grandchildren.
