Mrs. Trina H. Van Zandbergen, age 86, of Orange City, passed away Thursday, March 2 at the Heritage Home in Orange City.

Trina was born March 3, 1902 at Hospers, the daughter of Henry A. Hoffs and Mary (Zordrager) Hoffs.

On November 30, 1922 she married Arie Van Zandbergen at Hospers. They farmed in the Newkirk area. Mr. Van Zandbergen passed away Nov. 7, 1967 at Sioux Center.

In August of 1984 Mrs. Van Zandbergen became a resident of the Christian Retirement Home in Sheldon, and in May of 1988 she transferred to the Heritage House.

She was a member of the Newkirk Reformed Church.

Survivors include her three sons, Harold and his wife Eldora of Hospers, Marion and his wife Ruth, and Adrian and his wife Carol, all of Orange City; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Hoffs and John H. A. Hoffs.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 6 at the First Reformed Church of Hospers with the Rev. Kevin Ver Hoeven officiating.
Interment followed at Newkirk Cemetery, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
