Rites Held For Wife Of Local Business Man
Mrs. John Koob, 36, Dies At Home Here Saturday; Solemn High Mass Held Mrs. John Koob, 36, wife of a Hawarden business man, died in her home Saturday morning. She had been suffering from a virus infection. Mrs. Koob had prepared and eaten breakfast with her husband. When he went to his place of business she returned to bed, a usual custom. Mr. Koob had been gone less than half an hour when his daughter Sharon telephoned, stating she could not awaken her mother.

Loretta Theresa Bies was born September 13, 1913, at Salem, S. D., where she grew up. Later she came to. Hawarden and was employed by the. K . & K company. She was married to John Koob ir. Hawarden in June, 1937. She was a member of St. Mary's church and of the Loyola Court of Forresters of Salem, S. D.

She is survived by the widower; three children, Sharon Ann, 10, Dennis, 5, and Susan Mary, 2; her mother, Mrs. Mary Bies of Salem, S. -D.; three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Tuschen and Mrs. Don Sullivan of Salem, S. D., and Mrs. Dale Knox of Canistota, S, D.

Solemn high mass was held at 9:30 Tuesday morning in St. Mary's church with Rev. Fr. R. Graf, celebrant, Rev. Fr. Raising of Alton, deacon, and Rev. Fr. Ernest of Akron, sub-deacon. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery under the direction of the Frazier Funeral service. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral included Mrs. Mary Bies, Mrs. Lawrence Tuschen, Mrs. M. W. Wingen and Mr. and Mrs. John Glass of Salem, S. D.; Mrs. Dale Knox of Canistota, S. D.; and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Bechtel and Bernard of Madison SD.
