Robert J. Koob, 60, of Hawarden, died Friday, April 16 in a Hawarden hospital of brief illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Stanley Stone officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Monday in the Dow Funeral Home.

Mr. Koob was born June 20, 1921, in Hawarden and was a lifelong area resident. He had been employed by various Hawarden businesses, including Ben Franklin, John's Associated Market, and Streit Pharmacy and also had operated Bob-Ben's Cafe. He presently was employed at Coilcraft Otis Division.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Margaret Ristow of Hawarden and three brothers, John of Mesa, Ariz, and Joseph and Bernard, both of Hawarden
