Died: September 27, 1983 Orange City, Iowa
Mrs. Lizzie Van Corler, 92, of Orange City, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City, after a long illness.

Lizzie Rens was born Jan. 28, 1891, on a farm south of Sioux Center, the daughter of Lammert Rens and Ida (Gerritsen) Rens. On February 21, 1918, she married Guysbert Van Corler in Sioux County. They lived at Alton, Boyden, and Sibley, where Mr. Van Corler passed away December 7, 1949. Mrs. Van Corler then moved to Orange City, where she later became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home. Since 1968 she has lived at the Heritage House.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Gerrit (Elizabeth) Tesselink of Topeka, Kansas; one grandson; and four brothers and sisters, Mrs. Gerrit (Jen) Rozeboom of Orange City; Mrs. James (Kate) Bloemendaal of Alton; Cornie Rens of Appleton, Minn., and Gerrit L. Rens of Orange City.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Van Corler was preceded in death by a stillborn infant and three brothers, Tim, Bert, and Lambert Rens.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 29, at the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City with Mr. Lyle Schober officiating. Interment followed at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.
