Melanie Ann Konz, the infant daughter of Mark and Kristin (Hansen) Konz, was born Tuesday, October 30, 2001 in Sheldon, Iowa. She passed away on that same day at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon.

Services were held for Melanie on Thursday, November 1, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hospers, with Father James Tigges and Father John McGuirk officiating. Burial was in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery of Hospers under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sheldon, Iowa.

She is survived by her parents, Mark and Kristin Konz of Hospers, and three sisters, Jessica, Nicole and Rebecca Konz all at home. Her paternal grandparents Jim and Geri Konz of Hospers and her paternal great-grandmother, Honey Konz of Hospers; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Everist and Mary Hansen, paternal great grandparents, Magnus Konz and Martin and Delores Schwarz.
