Mr. Arie Van Wyk passed away at his home at three o'clock Monday morning after an illness of more than eight months. He was seventy two years and nine months old.
Mr. Van Wyk was born at Pella, Iowa in 1860. He came to Sioux County at the age of 10 years and has lived in and around Orange City ever since that time. At the age of twenty seven he married Wilhemina De Jong. Three sons were born to them, one Edward, having died at the age of five years.
Mr. Van Wyk was an active church member having been affiliated with Trinity Reformed Church during the last several years in a very active way up until the past year. His sincere belief and faith were an inspiration to all who knew him in health as well as during illness.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Rev. John C. Van Wyk, of Muskegon, Michigan, and Henry Van Wyk of Orange City, one brother, Herbert Van Wyk of Hull, and one sister Mrs. J.W. TePaske of Three Oaks, Michigan.
Funeral services were held at the house at 1 p.m. Wednesday and at Trinity Reformed Church at 2 o'clock. Interment took place at the Orange City Cemetery.
