Johanna Kooiker, Mrs. Johanna Kooiker. 85, of Hull died Saturday. August 28. at Hegg Memorial Hospital. Rock Valley. Johanna was born January 10. 1908, at Sioux Center, the daughter of Jake and Cynthia (TeSlaa) Vermeer. She attended rural school and graduated from Hull High School. She taught in rural schools for a few years.

On June 1, 1928, she married John Kooiker at Hull. They farmed near Middleburg, where their seven children were born. In March of 1947, they moved to a farm west of Hardwick, Minnesota, and in 1957 they returned to the Hull area. In the fall of 1975, they retired at 1317 Sixth Street, Hull. Mr. Kooiker died February 9. 1976. At Sheldon.

Johanna was a faithful member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull , where she belonged to the Helping Hand society.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Willis and Beverly of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jacob and Gertrude of Hardwick, and John and Sherry of Boyden; three daughters and their husbands, Clara and Harvard Rozeboom and Louisa and Donald De Boer, all of Leota, Minnesota, and Cynthia and Lawrence Lundberg, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Priscilla Van Ommeren, Maurice, and Hattie Vink, Worthington, Minnesota; and a brother, Gerrit Vermeer, Boyden. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Herman in 1962; three sisters, Louise Intveld, Effie Stientjes and Gertrude Van Ommeren, and a brother, Edward Vermeer.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 31, at the First Christian Reformed Church, Hull, with Rev. Roger Bouwman officiating. Interment was at Hope Cemetery, Hull.
