Bill H. Kooiker Dies at Age 48
The community was saddened last week Tuesday when word came that Bill H. Kooiker. 48 of rural Orange City, had died of a sudden heart attack. He was married to the former Joan Dykstra and was the brother-in-law of Mrs. Clarence Mulder. Bill and John Dykstra of Rock Valley.

Funeral services were held Friday. April 26, at 1:30 from the Free Grace Reformed church of Middleburg, with the Rev. John Ekema officiating and burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Kooiker was born October 30, 1919, at Boyden. He married Joan Dykstra December S, 1945 and farmed near Boyden until 1950 when they moved to a farm neat Middleburg, where he operated a large dairy farm. He was an active church member being a deacon and also at one time served as a director on the Christian School Board of Sioux Center.

He is survived hy his wife and six sons, Harlyn, Daniel, William, David, Paul and Richard; and four daughter, DeeAnn, Barbara, Paula and Ruth, all at home. Also two sisters, Clara (Mrs. Nick Vande Weerd) of Bruce, S. D., and Johanna (Mrs., Larry Wallinga) of Norwalk, Calif, and one brother, Albert of Boyden.
