Leo B. Kraus, 84 of Granville, IA passed away Friday, December 26, 2003 at Oak ParkCare Center in Sheldon, IA.

Leo was born November 19, 1919 at rural Granville, IA the son of John P. and Elizabeth (Hentges) Kraus. Leo died after a lengthy illness. He was raised in the Granville area and received his education at St. Joseph Catholic School in Granville. He was then engaged in farming and trucking and resided on the farm where he was born. He retired on the farm in the early 1990's. After suffering a stroke in March 1998 he became a resident of Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon.

Funeral Service was 10:30A.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville with Msgr. Kenneth Seifried Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery in Granville Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen, IA handled arrangements.

Survivors include one Sister, Margaret Goergen of Granville; two Nieces, Germaine O'Donnell of Sioux City, IA, Eileen and her husband Bernie Kryzwada of Boca Raton, FL; two Nephews, Roger Goergen of Granville, Glenn and his wife Denise Goergen of Fox Point, WI. Leo was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters all of Granville. Casket Bearers were Roger and Jeffrey Goergen, Ernest Vortherms, Leonard Heying, Harold Naber, Marvin Hoffman.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Joe N. Goergen. Visitation was after 4:00 P.M. Monday. There was a rosary at 5:00 p.m.by the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. all at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville.
