Frances M. Kooima, 73, of Rock Valley, died Thursday, July 5; 1990, at the Rock Valley hospital. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9 at the First Reformed Church, Rock Valley, with the Rev. Norman Van Heukelom officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mrs. Kooima, the former Frances Harmelink, was born May 25,1917, at Rock Valley. She married Ted Kooima Dec. 12, 1935, at Rock Valley. They farmed near there until moving to Rock Valley in 1973. She was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Lloyd of Golden, Colo., Roger of Canton, S.D. and Lyle of Louisville, Ky.; four daughters, Mrs. Gail (Marilyn) Gilberts of Arvada, Colo., Mrs. Daniel (LaVonne) Hira of Naperville, 111., Linda Kooima of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Wendell (Carol) Young of Paso Robles, Calif.; six brothers, Henry of Colton, S.D., John of Hawarden, Andrew of Fairview, S.D., Harvey of Vista, Calif., George of Denver, Vernon of Angeles the Phillipines; five sisters, Mrs. Priscilla Van Dyke and Mrs. Jack (Josephine) Young of Lynden, Wash., Mrs. Al (Jennie) Bonthuis of Rock Valley, Mrs. Dena Hooyer of Quincy, Wash., and Mrs. Bill (Minnie) Van Noort of Piedmont, S.D.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
