Marion Mae (King) Korver, 86, of Orange City died Thursday, January 4, at the Orange City Area Health System. A memorial service was Monday at 12 noon at the American Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Keith Krebs and the Rev. Lizbeth Moss officiating. Graveside service was at 10 a.m. at the Storm Lake Cemetery.

Marion Mae Adams, daughter of William Russell and Hannah (Siefken), Adams, was born on May 15, 1920, in rural Rossie. She was raised on a farm near Rossie, where she graduated from high school and then attended beauty school in Fort Dodge. On January 4, ,1942, she married Kenneth R. King "King," as everyone knew him in Papillion, Nebraska. They first lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, while King trained in the navy. When he shipped out, Marion returned to Rossie and operated a beauty shop.

After the war, they moved to Hampton, where they owned and operated a dry cleaning business. In 1950, they moved to Orange City, where they again owned and operated a dry cleaning business for five years. In 1955, she opened Marion’s Beauty Shop in her home, a business she ran for many years. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1992. He died two years later.

Through the years, she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports. The couple spent many summers near Brainerd MN and winter in Tuscon AZ. She was a member of the American Reformed church and the Eastern Star. She particularly enjoyed baking and playing bridge. Her famous cinnamon rolls and fudge have been enjoyed by her family and friends. She married James Korver on. November 4, 1997, and they continued to live in Orange City. In October of 2006 they moved to the Landsmeer Ridge Retirment Community.

Survivors include her husband, Jim three children and their spouses Russell and Myrna King of Nissaw MN, Dandy and Larry Leege of Duluth, MN and Steen and Kathy King of Tucson; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and two siblings Lucy Rusk and Dickens and Harry Adams of Arnolds Park. She was also preceded in death by five siblings, Marge Thomsen, Pater Adams, Tom Adams, Bell Baldwin and Helen Mills. Memorials may be directed to the American Reformed church and the Orange City Area Health System.
