Mrs. Marie Ten Harmsel, 79, passed away at her home here Thursday, October 27. Funeral services were held Monday, October 31, at 1:00 at her home and 1:30 at the First Christian Reformed Church. Rev. B.J. Haan officiated and burial was in the Sioux Center Cemetery. The Co-operative Burial Association was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ten Harmsel nee Marie Ten Brink was born May 30, 1876, in The Netherlands. She was married December 1, 1900, to Anthony Ten Harmsel and they came to the United States in 1903. Mr. and Mrs. Ten Harmsel farmed near Hull until 1926, and then near Sioux Center until 1935 when they retired and moved into town.

Mrs. Ten Harmsel was active member of the First Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include the widower, two sons, Herman of Zeeland, Michigan; and Gerrit of Ontario, California, five daughters, Mrs. C.M. Vugteveen of Hull, Mrs. Henry G. Meyer of Volga, South Dakota, Mrs. Ernest Gerritsma, Miss Henrietta Ten Harmsel and Miss Johnanna Ten Harmsel, all of Sioux Center; 29 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Three children preceded her in death. They were: Fanny, who died March 20, 1927 at the age of 17 years, 11 months and 20 days, John who died January 3, 1944 at the age of 30 years, 3 months and six days, and Harry who died in June 1944 at the age of 40 years and 6 months.
