Mr. Harry Ten Harmsel passed away at the Sacred Heart Hospital at LeMars at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning, June 20 after an illness of only a little more than a week. He became ill a week ago Saturday and was taken to the hospital at LeMars last Thursday morning, where it was found that he had an infection on the brain tissue. He had reached the age of 40 years.

Left to mourn his departure are the widow and three children: Andrew, 14, Eldeen, 13, and Mary Ann 8. Also his parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Ten Harsmel and two brothers, Herman of Inwood, and Gerrit of Inwood and Gerrit of Inwood, and five sisters, Jennie (Mrs. C.M. Vugteveen) of Hull; Minnie (Mrs. Henry Meyer) of Sioux Center, and Johanna, Marie and Henrietta at home.

He was preceded in death by a nine month old son Chester who was a twin brother of Mary Ann, and also an 18 year old sister Fannie who died some 17 years ago, and his brother, John, who was killed in a truck crash last January 2.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, June 23, at one o’clock at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Ten Harmsel and at 1:30 at the First Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Arnoys officiating. Burial will take place at the local cemetery.

Mr. Ten Harsmel was born in The Netherlands on December 10, 1904 and came to this country with his parents at the age of 6 Months. The family lived near Hull for some time and moved to this vicinity about 18 years ago and he has made his home here since that time. On November 8, 1928 he was united in marriage to Miss Dena Klein who now survives him with the children.

Mr. Ten Harmsel was an active sympathy to the family. worker in both church and community affairs and will be deeply missed by both his family and a host of friends. The news wishes to join the people of this vicinity in extending its sincere
