Rena J. Faber, 90, of Sioux City, died Thursday, July 25,1991atherresidence after a long illness. Services were held Monday, July 29 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Don Cox and Freddie Bryanton officiating. Burial was in Sherman Township Cemetery near Maurice.
Mrs. Faber, the former Rena J. De Jager, was born May 30, 1901 near Orange City. She married Peter Faber Oct 5, 1920 in Orange City. He died Jan. 24,1980 in Sioux City.
Survivors include five sons, Wendell of Lakewood, Calif., Roland of Mayetta, Kan., Maynard of Tulsa, Okla, Laurence of Anchorage, Alaska and Ronald Peter of Easton, Mo.; eight daughters, Mrs. Gerrit (Rosa) deBoer of Pierson, Freda of Mexico City, Mexico, June of Sioux City, Bemice of Alliance, Neb., Philene of the Dominican Republic, Mrs. Oliver (Lois) Pountney of Corvallis, Ore., Mrs. Jim (Goldie) Vlieger of Peru, Iowa, and Mrs. Jerry (Lydia) Beemer of Gravity, Iowa; four sisters, Susie Smit of Lynden, Wash., Rose deWeerd and Henrietta Vander Kieft both of Sioux Center and Johanna Vliestra of Orange City; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two children in infancy, Brniece and Philip; a son-in-law, Oliver Pountney; a grandchild; two brothers and four sisters
