Elsie (Van Noort) Faber

Elsie (Van Noort) Faber 73, of Hawarden, I A, died Monday, July 1, 1991 at the Hawarden Community Hospital. Services were held on Wednesday morning, July 3, 1991, at the Community Reformed Church of Hawarden, the Reverend Douglas McClintic officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Porter-Dow Funeral Home at Hawarden.

Mrs. Faber was born on May 14, 1918 near Fairview, SD, the daughter of Henry and Teunie (Ver Doom) Van Woudenberg. She married Jake Van Noort on January 22, 1940, at Inwood, IA. The couple farmed near Fairview, SD until moving to a farm near Hawarden in 1958. He died on February 20, 1985. She married Bernard Faber at Hawarden on January 30,1987.

Mrs Faber was a member of the Community Reformed church of Hawarden, where she was a past member of Willing Workers and the church choir, and a former Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard Van Noort of Fairview, and Allen Van Noort of Hawarden; a daughter, Betty Jo (Mrs. Delbert) Zwart of Hawarden; a brother, Joe Van Woudenberg of Rock Valley, IA; a sister, Marie Middle of Inwood, IA; nine grandchildren; two stepsons, Barry Faber of Huntington Beach, CA, and Jim Faber of Doon, IA; a step-daughter, Elaine (Mrs. Rod) Ruff of San Diego, CA; two step grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Richard Van Woudenberg
