Mrs. Jerry "Nellie" Vander Pol, 73, of Sheldon, died Tuesday, Jan. 26 in a Sheldon hospital.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Jerome Julien officiated. Burial was in the East Lawn cemetery. Family visitation was from 7-9 p.m. in the Andringa Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vander Pol, the former Peternella "Nellie" Vande Brake, was born July 26, 1908, at Sioux Center. She lived her youth in the Sioux County area and attended Sioux Center Christian School.

She married Jerry Vander Pol Jan. 26, 1933, at Brunsville, Iowa. They farmed near Sheldon.

She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, Golden Hour Circle and Christian School Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gerard "Jerry" and Harold, both of Sheldon; five daughters, Mrs. Russ (Joyce) Van Berkum, and Mrs. Marlyn (Betty) Post, both of Rock Valley, Mrs. Don (Thelma) De Jong of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Don (Lois) Postma of Ireton and Mrs. Marvin (Martha) Leese of Bellflower, Calif.; six brothers; Gerald of Sheldon, Gilbert and Elmer, both of Orange City, Cornie of Hollandale, Minn., Martin of Vista, Calif., and Bill of Montclair, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Marinus (Martha) Mulder of Norwalk, Calif.; 20 grandchildren and nine gret-grandchildren.
