David Ray Tebben, 53, of Sioux Center died Monday, December 12, at a Sioux Center Hospital after a brief illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 15, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Robert Drenten officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Tebben was born August 3, 1941, in Montevideo, Minnesota. He graduated from Central Minnesota Christian School in Prinsburg, Minnesota, and Dordt College in 1965 with a degree in biology. He married Helma Ruth Van Voorst in Sioux Center on August 11, 1964. The couple moved to De Motte, Indiana, where he taught junior high school science and math in the Christian School. The family moved to Sioux Center in 1977, where he worked for Sioux Automation Center, Inc. until his death.

He was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, where he served as a deacon and elder. He was president of the Sioux County Machinery Dealers Association.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his fiancée, Dave Tebben and Marlene Bos of Lansing, Michigan; two daughters, Laura and her husband Mark Blankespoor of Newton and Lisa Tebben of Sioux Center; his parents, Kasjen and Etta (Ulferts) Tebben of Sioux Center; three brothers, Charles and his wife Darlene of Schereville, Indiana, Dean and his wife Diane of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Kent of Grand Rapids; a sister and her husband, Linda and Bruce Hoeksema of Highland Ranch, Colorado; and one grandchild, Vanessa Rae Blankespoor.

A memorial has been established in his name with Western Christian High School in Hull.
