William "Bill" Ter Meer, 90, of Rock Valley, died Monday, Dec. 4, 1989 in Sioux Center, Iowa Nursing Wing.

He was born April 15, 1890, in Vollenhove, Holland. He moved to the Rock Valley area in 1915. He served in France during World War I. He married Maggie De Vries on Nov. 20, 1923, in Rock Valley. They lived in Rock Valley; in California; and in Canby, Minn. They moved to Inwood, Iowa in 1931. His wife died May 15, 1965.

He moved to the nursing wing on Nov. 9 1979.

Survivors include two sons, Opie, Rialto, Calif.; and Walter, Brazil, Ind.; and three daughters; Mrs. Simon (Hermina) Kooima, Coopersville, Mich.; Mrs. Donald (Bertha) Roos, Bella Vista, Ark.; and Mrs. John (Mabel) Van Den Top, of Rock Valley; ? grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday Dec. 8 in Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley, with burial in Richland Cemetery, Inwood, Iowa.
