Funeral services were held at 2:p.m. Thursday, April 24, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Charles Bertram, 31, of Ireton, who died suddenly Monday afternoon, April 21, while working on the new sewage disposal plant construction at Ireton. Bertram was removing wooden forms from poured concrete when he collapsed and died, according to County Coroner A. D. Van Etten of Orange City. Death was due to a heart attack.
Rev. Paul Fredericks officiated at the services.
Bertram was the son of Lorenz Bertram of Ireton. His mother was the former Dorothy Nicholson.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ralph Dick, living in California, Mrs. Keith Lynn, living in Michigan, Karen at home; four brothers, Alan at home, Tom and Jim of Ireton, and Larry living in California. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mrs. Louise Bertram, 87.
