Sophia Koerselman, 81, of Hull, died Friday, November 6, in the Sioux Center Community Nursing Home.

Services were Monday at Free Grace Reformed Church in Middleburg, the Rev. Jeffrey Taylor officiating.

Burial was at Middleburg Cemetery, Born Sophia Vander Wilt on August 11, 1906, in Orange City, she was graduated from Northwestern Classical Academy in Orange City and married Gerrit B. Koerselman on January 7,1930, in Orange City. The couple farmed north of Middleburg.

He died on May 22,1981, in Sioux City. She became a resident of the nursing home in 1985. She was a lifetime member of Free Grace Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of Reformed Church Women and of the World Home Bible League.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy Visser of Hull and Muriel De Groot of Omaha, Nebraska; two sons, Benjamin of Hull and the Rev. Richard of Mesa, Arizona; a sister, Katherine Rowenhorst of Orange City; and 11 grandchildren.
