Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed Church here at 10:00 A.M. Saturday for Jess Wells, 59, who died at the Sioux Center Community Hospital shortly before 11 A.M. Wednesday following a 3 ½ weeks confinement.

Death was attributed to a tumor of the brain.

Services will be conducted by the Rev. Jack Boerigter and burial will be made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg’s Funeral Home.

He was born in Colfax, Iowa, October 9, 1910. Mr. Wells was in the Hearing Aid business at Omaha for 20 years before moving to Sioux Center in November.

Survivors include his widow, the former Alice Wesselink; a son, Knight, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a daughter, Alicia, a senior at Central College, Pella; and two brothers, Sam of Des Moines and William of Silvis, Illinois.

Note: Sioux Center Centennial Book: Alice and Jess were married August 16, 1939. Jess parent’s were James B. Wells and Georgia Knight.
