Died: December 16, 1995 Raymond, MinnesotaPeter De Groot, 92, died suddenly Saturday, December 16, at his home in Raymond, Minnesota.
Services were Wednesday, December 20, at the Raymond Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Steven Van Zanten officiating. Burial was at the Raymond Cemetery.
De Groot was born July 6, 1903, the son of John L. and Clara (Haarsma) De Groot near Maurice. He attended Northwestern Academy. Grundy College, Calvin College and the University of Iowa. He was administrator of Sioux Center Christian School, Oak Harbor (Washington) Christian School, Manhattan (Montana) Christian School and Sanborn Christian School. For many years he was a partner with his brother Dick in the Amsterdam (Montana) General Store. He retired to Raymond, Minnesota.
Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn and Joe Apol of Raymond;, and Harriet and Stan Brouwer of Shererville, Indiana; son Jim and Trudy De Groot of New Brighton, Minnesota; two brothers, Dick of Manhattan Montana,; and Henry of Sioux Center; grandchildren; and great-granchildren.
His wife, Jeane, preceded him in death in 1993.
