A memorial service in honor of Dr. Gerald K. Sandbulte took place October 19 in Napa, California. It was a celebration of life --to gather, to grieve, to praise, to mourn and to remember.

Prayer, meditation and blessing were given by Pastor Bob Grove. Approximately200 family member and friends of Gerald and Mary Sandbulte attended the memorial service at the home of friends Tony and Sheila Marko. Food was supplied by Mary Sandbulte’s P.E.O. sisters.

Sandbulte was born December 14, 1933, in Sioux Center, the son of Joe and Johanna (Ter Horst) Sandbulte. He graduated from Sioux Center High School in 1951 and from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1958. He practiced veterinary medicine with Dr. Wallinga in Sioux Center util 1966. He then moved to California, where he established his own veterinary clinic in Burlingame, California. He retired in 1997 and moved to Napa. He died September 18 at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa.
Survivors include his wife; his brother and their wives, Arlon J. and Joyce Sandbulte of Sioux Center and Robert and Diane Sandbulte of Escondido, California; and a sister and her husband, Julie (Sandbulte) and Henk Van Arkel of Burlingame.
