Eagle Township Young Man Succumbs After Long Illness

Knute Oscar Toft died at the home of his parents in Eagle township Tuesday evening from tubercular peritonitis, at the age of 23 years, 3 months and 20 days. About three years ago he underwent an operation for appendicitis and has never been very strong since that time. Two months ago he began to decline and failed rapidly from that time on. The deceased was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Toft, well known residents of Eagle township.

He was born in Emmet county, Iowa, March 30th, 1892, and came with his parents to Sioux county when only three years of age. He has made his home here since that time. When in health he was a bright and active young man and was highly respected by all who knew him. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon. Short services will be held at the home after which the body Will be taken to the Norwegian Lutheran church at Highland where the funeral sermon will be preached by Rev. Nordgaard of Canton. Interment will be made in the Highland cemetery.

The bereaved parents and other relatives have the sincere sympathy of the community in their hour of sorrow.
