Doring-Williams, Mrs. Emma - 1884-1936

Hawarden Independent, October 8, 1936

Emma Doring, daughter of Conrad & Martha Doring, was born in the township of Gratiot, Wis., Dec. 6, 1884, so she was past 51 years of age at the time of her death. She was baptized and confirmed in the West Wiota Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage with Grover Williams, Aug. 4, 1909, at Darlington, Wis. where she lived until 1917 when the family came to Hawarden. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Loyal Chapter No. 204; the Royal Neighbors of America, Ivy Camp No. 1,371, and the Rebekah Lodge No. 589. She was of a happy disposition and her fine Christian spirit, her outlook on life and her consideration for others won and kept her scores of friends, who all express their sympathy to the bereaved husband and children.

She is survived by her husband and three children, Paul; Mrs. Dorcas Bentley and Lawrence, a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law of Hawarden, and one brother and five sisters, Frank Doring of Darlington, Wis.; Mrs. O. B. Peterson, South Wayne, Wis.; Mrs. C. E. Dahl, Devils Lake, N.D.; and Mrs. Jonas Burmeister, Gratiot, Wis.; Mrs. Carl Lovelace, Woodford, Wis., and Mrs. Harry Keister, Wiota, Wis. Her parents and one brother, Charley preceded her in death.

Peterson, South Wayne, Wis.; Mr. & Mrs. Carl Lovelace, Woodford, Wis.; Mrs. Harry Keister, Wiota, Wis.; Henry Burmeister, Rockford, Ill; Mr. & Mrs. Chas. Marr, Adrian, Minn.; and Mr. & Mrs. H. W. Peterson, Alsen, S.D.
