Mrs. Johanna G. Wielenga, 86, of Orange City passed Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. John T. Ebers will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. Visitation will be after 2pm Thursday (today) with the family present from 7-8:30pm at the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Johanna Gertrude Wielenga was born Sept. 11, 1899 at Alton, the daughter of William G. and Hendrika (Bloemendaal) Scholten. On March 23, 1922 she married Lou J. Wielenga at Orange City. They farmed near Alton for one year and then moved to a farm west of Orange City. In 1935 they moved into Orange City. Mr. Wielenga passed away December 25, 1971 at Orange City.

Mrs. Wielenga was a charter member of the Second Christian Reformed Church, now the Calvary Christian Reformed Church of Orange City.

Survivors include five children, Mrs. Homer (Kathryn) De Boer, Orange City, Harriet Nichols of Alameda, Calif., Leland of Harogate, England, Wilbur of Placentia, Calif., 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wielenga was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Scholten and two brothers, Bernard and John scholten.
