Alton Democrat of Aug 5, 1905 Twenty years ago

H. Neyenesch was killed in Dakota Territory by lightning. He was a brother of Mrs. Conrad De Jong north of town and had been employed in Alton.

(According to an ancestry.com account - Herman B. Neyenesch born 1856 in Marion County IA died 5 Aug 1885 South Dakota. His wife was Kate Van Zee 1860-1941 married 6 Mar 1884 Marion County IA. His parents were Herman Neyenesch 1823-1914 and Joanna Van Den Toorn 1827-1862. Their were at leas two children born to him, Herman 1865-1905 and and infant 1865-1886.)
