Cornie Van Tol, 76, died Tuesday, December 21, 1993, at Canton-Inwood Memorial Hospital.

Cornelius "Cornie" Van Tol was born September 19, 1917, at Perkins, Iowa. He grew up near Doon, Iowa and attended country school and Doon Christian School.

He married Nellie Folkerts on March 7, 1947 at the Inwood Christian Reformed Church. Following their marriage, they began farming south of Inwood, and it was there they spent their entire married life.

Cornie was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Inwood and also the Senior Fellowship of the church, along with being a member of the Lyon County Pork Producers. On April 2, 1987 Nellie died. After her death, he continued to make his home on the farm.

Survivros include one son, Mark and his wife Sandra, of Inwood; two daughters, Corrine Bonnema and her husband, George of Luverne, Mn. and Ruth Van Tol of Rochester, Minn.; three grandchildren; four sisters; Martha Feikema of Luverne, Mn.; Bessie Feenstra and Cora Van Tol both of Rock Valley; Magdaline Van Tol of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one brother Arie Van Tol of Rock Valley; a step-sister, Alice Neimeyer of Rock Valley, and family friend Doris Tuinstra of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Memorial services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Christian Reformed Church in Inwood. A private burial service was held at Richland Cemetery in Inwood.
Roste Funeral Home in ROck Rapids was in charge of arrangements.
