Died: 7-4-2000Pier Wynia, 69, of Rock Valley died suddenly Tuesday, July 4, at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley.
Services were at 10:30am Thursday at Pioneer United Methodist Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.
Wynia was born June 28, 1931, in Rock Valley, the son of John and Johanna (Dykstra) Wynia. He married Wilma Jean Nebben May 2, 1952, in Rock Valley. The couple made their home in Rock Valley, where he was employed with Dykstra Motor. He later purchased the business and renamed it W.W. Motors.
He was a member of Rock Valley Volunteer Fire Department for more than 25 years, Sapphire Masonic Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star and Pioneer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Mark and Nancy of Rock Valley; a daughter and her husband, Cindy and Dennis Aisenbrey of Menno, South Dakota; a brother and his wife, Charles and Dorothy of Rock Valley; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
