Marlene Wynia, 44, of Rock Rapids, died Thursday, May 15, 1986 at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids hospital.

Services were held Monday, May 19 at the Netherlands Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. John Den Hoed officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

Mrs. Wynia, the former Marlene Van Ginkel, was born April 17, 1942, in Rock Valley. She graduated from Rock Valley High School. She married Frank Wynia on March 28, 1962, in Rock Valley, and the couple farmed in rural Rock Rapids.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Mark and Michael, both at home, and Lyle of Rock Rapids; four daughters, Mrs. John (Deanna) Van Wingerden of Sunnyside, Wash., and Fonda, Rebecca, and Sharla, all at home; her parents, Henry and Ann Van Ginkel of Rock Valley; two brothers, Everett and Harold Van Ginkel both of Rock Valley; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Wallenburg, of Red Bluff, Calif., Mrs. Rich (Lavina) Vanden Brink of Maurice, and Mrs. Gerrit (Bernice) Hupp of Corsica, S.D. and one grandson.

Dr. Steve Ferguson, Lyon County coroner, ruled the death a suicide.
