William D. Boone, 59, Grand Rapids, Mich,, formerly of Sioux Center, died Friday, November 13, in a hospital at Grand Rapids of brief illness.

Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Central Reformed Church at Sioux Center. The Rev. Roderick Jackson officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family visitation was from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home at Sioux Center.

Mr. Boone was born Nov. 14, 1921, at Orange City to William H. and Carrie (Ver Steeg) Boone.

He was in the restaurant business most of his life. For the last two years, he had been a night supervisor at Jellema House, an alcoholic rehabilitation center, at Grand Rapids.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Grand Rapids and William with the U.S. Army in Germany; one daughter, Dianne Gardner of Loma Linda, Calif.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Boone of Sioux Center; eight grandchildren; one stepson. Richard Newton of Texas; three brothers, Vernon and Marvin, both of Sioux Center and Dr. Raymond of Jacksonville, Texas; and nine sisters, Mrs. James (Anabelle) Cochran of Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs. Ted (June) Vanden Berg, Mrs. Irwin (Karen) De Boer and Mrs. Gilbert (Ruth) Meyer, all of Sioux Center, Mrs. Paul (Joan) Den Hartog and Mrs. Elrher (Audrey) Gesink, both of Orange City, Mrs. Raymond (Carolyn) Sneller and Mrs. Ivan (Judith) Friese, both of Parker, S.D., and Mrs. Norman (Lil) Hogan of Lakewood, Calif.
